Firstly, everyone has their own ways and opinion on how and what you should do when looking after their new tattoo. This is what we strongly recommend…
You will leave the shop with your new tattoo wrapped in plastic. This plastic will prevent the air from drying the blood which is very important as drying encourages scabbing.
In 2-3 hours, you must remove the plastic wrap and give the tattoo a good (gentle) wash with warm soapy water to remove all the blood and ink. After you have carefully washed your tattoo then pat dry with a clean towel and allow to air dry before applying Bepanthen Cream.
Bepanthen Cream is an antiseptic cream that we recommend and sell over the counter. Apply cream sparingly to your tattoo 2-3 times per day until healed. The healing time is different person to person, the tattoo will usually heal anywhere between 7-14 days.
Note: For the duration of the healing process you are to avoid as much direct sunlight as possible and also to avoid soaking of the tattoo i.e.: baths, spas and swimming. If you do not follow aftercare directions properly as mentioned it can possibly affect the overall healing of your tattoo and could quite possibly result in patchy and/or fallen out areas. If you have any questions or problems please don’t hesitate to contact us.
